I gotta admit, as a parent, I don't really look forward to Halloween as much as I should. It's a lot of complaining by the kids, driving around to a better neighborhood, and fighting with them to keep their costumes on. But they like it and that's what's important. In our family, we have a tradition of trying to make or manufacture costumes instead of buying mass-produced store bought crap. Some of my personal favorite from the past have included Ash as Superman, Aiden as Batman (2 years ago), Ash as an eagle (complete with feathered wings) and Aiden as Batman Beyond (last year) and this year, I made a robot costume for Ash, as Aiden went with a Cheetah motif and Kieran rocked a Mouse costume. Aiden and Kieran;s ears and tails were store bought, but Ash's costume I made from U.S. Postal Service Priority mail boxes (3), his bicycle helmet, lots of tape, tin foil and sharpies. In all it took about 3.5 hours but turned out well and he even won best costume at his school today. I'm a proud poppa. Without further ado.... The Cody Kids; Halloween 2005.
as you can see Aiden is in his usual cheerful mood.
